Lahan bomb blast: One arrested



LAHAN: A team of Armed Police Force on Monday evening arrested a person on the charge of his involvement in the bomb explosion at Land Revenue Office, Lahan.

Balram Mandal, 28, of Lahan municipality-18 was arrested by a team deployed from the APF Base Camp, Sukhipur.

He was arrested from Sukhipur municipality-2 based on the information received from footage of a CCTV installed at the Land Revenue Office, said APF Superintendent, Dipendra Giri.

A total of eight people including an employee of the Land Revenue Office were injured in a bomb explosion that took place on Sunday.

It may be noted that the Janatantrik Tarai Mukti Morcha (Revolutionary) led by Jay Krishna Goit took the responsibility for the incident.

Likewise, daily activities at Land Revenue Office have been affected due to the bomb explosion by Janatantrik Tarai Mukti Morcha (Revolutionary).

Employees are afraid of reaching the office due to terror following the bomb explosion. A total of eight people including an employee were injured when the bomb exploded at the office on Sunday.

Three counters on the first floor of the office were damaged in the incident, said Office Chief, Dipendra Chaudhary.

Fire, which had taken place after the explosion, destroyed important documents of the offices and it is still uncertain about the resumption of daily activities of the office, added Chaudhary.

Meanwhile, the local administration has directed all the district-based offices to maintain high-security alerts in wake of the incident.

Issuing a notice, officiating Chief District Officer of Siraha, Krishna Kumar Niraula, asked chiefs of all offices of the district to consolidate the security of their respective offices.
