Team including Bahrain’s prince arrives Nepal to climb Mt Everest



KATHMANDU: A 16-member team comprising a member of the royal family of Bahrain has arrived here today to climb Sagarmatha (Mt Everest).

Chairperson of Seven Summit Treks, Mingma Sherpa, shared that the team landed at Tribhuvan International Airport at 7:30 pm on a special aircraft. They will stay in the Marriott Hotel for five days in quarantine before leaving for Gorkha for five days.

They will return to Kathmandu after five days of stay in Gorkha and head for Sagarmatha Base Camp after completing all necessary processes for the same.

The team comprises members of the Bahrain royal family, Sheikh Mohamed Hamad Mohamed Al Khalifa, Bahrain Royal Guard, Defense Force, and three British nationals.

The team will stay in Nepal for around 80 days.

The team is also scheduled to provide 2,000 doses of vaccines against coronavirus to locals of Samagaun of Chumnubri rural municipality-1 in the Gorkha district.

It may be noted that the team had successfully climbed Lobuche peak and Manaslu Mountain in October 2020.
