Sandhya Tiwari led CPN-UML amends its party name

KATHMANDU: CPN-UML led by Sandhya Tiwari has amended its party name. The party has changed the name to Janatako Janabad Party (JJP).

After the Supreme Court restored the erstwhile CPN-UML and CPN (Maoist Center), scrapping their unification as the Nepal Communist Party, the Election Commission (EC) had asked the CPN-UML to changed its party name.

Earlier, after the unification of the two parties, Tiwari had registered the then CPN-UML party in the EC.

However, the EC has provided the same ‘Rising Sun’ as the election symbol.
