Three arrested for stealing oil and smuggling it to India

BIRGUNJ: Police in Parsa have arrested three persons, including a tanker, smuggling petroleum products to India.

Police nabbed tanker driver Ram Krishna Upreti, co-driver Ashok Pakhrin and the accountant of Sweta Oil Traders Shambhu Mahato for smuggling petroleum product to India.

According to DSP Manojit Kunwar, the alleged were smuggling diesel from Sweta Oli Traders at Jagarnathpur in Birgunj to India.

They were transporting a total of 1,360 liters of diesel including 1,000 liters in the tanker’s chamber and 360 liters in the tankers fuel tank.
