Police arrest three persons for drug trafficking



TAPLEJUNG: Police in Taplejung have arrested three persons, including a woman, involved in drug trafficking.

The arrested have been identified as Amrit Labung (Limbu), 24, of Ikhabu, Faktanglung Municipality-4, Ikhabu (Limbu), Kalpana Gurung, 33, of Arjundhara, Jhapa and Manoj Sah alias Rupan Sah, 30, of Fungling Municipality-9.

According to the District Police Office, Taplejung, they were arrested from different places on the basis of information about their involvement in drug trafficking.

Police said Amrit Labung was arrested with 25.81 grams of heroin from Gumba Chowk of Fungling Municipality-6 while Manoj Sah was arrested with 400 mg of heroin from Mechi Highway in Fungling Municipality-7.

The three arrested from different dates and places were made public by the police on Thursday during a press meet.

According to Taplejung Police Chief and Deputy Superintendent of Police Mahendra Shrestha, the District Police Office has launched a search and investigation operation with a special plan for drug control.
