Update: Counting of votes underway; Deuba still taking the lead

3282 votes counted; Deuba gets 1,556, Koirala 1197



KATHMANDU: Counting of votes for the post of Nepali Congress (NC) President is underway at Rastriya Sabhagriha in Kathmandu.

Among the five presidential candidates, Sher Bahadur Deuba and Shekhar Koirala are the main contenders.

According to the Election Committee, 3282  votes have been counted so far.

Deuba has maintained the lead so far followed by Koirala.

The counting of votes for the party President started at 4 am on Tuesday.

Out of 4,743 voters, 4,679 have cast their votes in the General Convention on Monday.

At least 2,340 votes are required to win the party President.
