UML obstructs parliament meeting today as well

Next meeting on September 20

KATHMANDU: The CPN-UML has obstructed the parliament today as well.

The party has been demanding that Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkota dismissed 14 lawmakers earlier suspended by the party.

The UML party also boycotted the all-party meeting convened by Speaker Sapkota on Monday.

Meanwhile, Speaker Sapkota adjourned the House meeting following UML’s obstruction. The next meeting will be held at 11 am on September 20.

The party had earlier registered a letter in the Federal Parliament Secretariat dismissing 14 lawmakers including Madhav Kumar Nepal.

The party has been demanding that Speaker Sapkota took action against the 14 lawmakers.

“As per the UML’s decision, the Speaker has not yet pasted a notice of dismissal of 14 lawmakers,” UML Chief Whip Bishal Bhattarai said.

He added that his party would continue to obstruct the meeting of the House of Representatives until the Speaker fulfills his constitutional and legal responsibilities.
