ECAN wants government to use educational service fees for cause of students

KATHMANDU: Educational Consultancy Association of Nepal (ECAN) has called for managing the amount paid by the students going for abroad studies as the educational service charge in the interest of students.

Nepali students going to study abroad are obliged to pay two percent of the tuition fees they deposit in foreign educational institutions to the Nepal Government.

The government has through the budget of the fiscal year 2078/79 BS ( 2021-22) announced that in case of those students who have already paid the tuition fees to the foreign educational institutions but have not traveled due to various reasons, the education service charge paid by them is refundable.

ECAN General Secretary Deepak Raj Bhusal in a press statement today said they are happy that the announcement will be going to be implemented from July 16.
