NC Vice President Gachchhadar turns up at court



KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) Vice President Bijaya Kumar Gachchhadar has turned up at the Special Court (SC) today.

Gachchhadar had been disobeying court’s order to be present in the court. NC leader produced himself at the court this morning, sources have said.

Preparations are underway to record his statements. The court will take his case forward after recording his statements.

He has become public after almost one year after the NC took charge of the government. Gachchhadar has been implicated in the 113-ropanis of land scam belonging to Lalita Niwas.

The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) had filed a case against him accusing him of embezzling of Rs 96,576,000.

He has been charged for playing a key role in transferring the ownership of the government land based at Baluwatar to names of various individuals.
