India COVID-19: Despite sharp fall in infection cases, death toll goes unabeted



NEW DELHI: Despite sharp decline in the number of COVID-19 infection cases in the southern neighbor India, the number of deaths from the pandemic has not decreased.

India recorded 67,290 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours, taking the caseload to 29,506,328.

Earlier, the daily infection cases had reached up to 400,000.

Currently, 985,724 are undergoing treatment at various isolation centers and hospitals. Meanwhile, 28,146,378 have returned home after treatment.

Similarly, the number of deaths from the coronavirus in India has crossed the 374,200-mark.

With 3,819 deaths in a single day, the number of deaths from the virus has reached 374,226, according to the latest figures collated by the Worldometers.

Broken out in Wuhan City of China in December 2019, the coronavirus has killed 3,818,882 and infected 176,700,025 globally until the filing of this news.
