KATHMANDU: Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Top Bahadur Rayamajhi is preparing to table a proposal at the meeting of the Council of Ministers on reducing the demand tariff of electricity for oxygen industries. The decision will reduce the tariff to be effective from this May to October.

Assuming his office at the Ministry today, newly-appointed Minister Rayamajhi said that he was tabling the proposal to ease the oxygen supplies in this critical hour of Covid-19 pandemic. The oxygen industries are operating 24 hours to meet the demand of oxygen supplies in the country and are using excessive electricity.

Rayamajhi also added that they were reducing the electricity demand tariff to the crematorium in Pashupati Aryaghat as the death toll caused by the pandemic continuously was on the rise in the country.
