52 children test COVID-19 positive on Wednesday

Double mutant coronavirus noticed in Lalitpur



 

KATHMANDU:  Out of 603 Coronavirus noticed in the past 24 hours, 52 are found to be in the children aged below 17.

In the regular press briefing organized Ministry of Health and Population, Director of Epidemiology and Disease Control Division Krishna Prasad Poudel revealed, on Wednesday, that the pandemic grip is spreading wide among the children of late.

Poudel reiterated in the need of taking strict measures against the pandemic, especially in the academic institutions, as the educational institutions are becoming pandemic hub lately.

He informed that double mutant coronavirus, a new variant of the virus has been noticed in Lalitpur for the first time.

According to Poudel the UK variant of coronavirus has already spread in Kathmandu, Pokhara, Bhaktapur, Nuwakot and Darchula.
