Government ready to face any kind of challenge: Minister Gurung



POKHARA: Minister for Communications and Information Technology Parbat Gurung has said the government is ready to face any kind of challenge.

Addressing a reception organized today by the National Senior Citizens Fund, Social Welfare Council at Mangal Bazar of Lalitpur on the occasion of Nepali New Year 2078 BS, the Minister who is also the government spokesperson said the government was worried whether the country would be directionless as the country’s political course had been pushed towards the confusion.

He said the incumbent government was working for the causes of people and the campaign for prosperous Nepal, happy Nepali was launched under the leadership of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli.

Claiming that development endeavors had been accelerated from the central to the local level, the minister said the government was doing its best to take the country on a right track.

He said the budget for the upcoming fiscal year would especially consider the social security issues of senior citizens. ”The government will leave \ no stone unturned in the respect of senior citizens.

Lalitpur metropolis mayor Chiribabu Maharjan said senior citizens need respect and recognition when they are alive.

According to him, the metropolis has launched different schemes for the welfare of senior citizens.
Centenary person, Satya Mohan Joshi was of the view that the society and nation should take benefits from the learnings and experiences of senior citizens.

He pointed out the need for collective efforts to make the lives of senior citizens easier. On the occasion, Minister Gurung, mayor Maharjan, and centenary man Joshi jointly launched the calendar of the year 2078 BS.
