UML disgruntled faction urges EC to nullify Oli-faction decisions



KATHMANDU: The disgruntled faction of the CPN-UML reached the Election Commission (EC) Sunday afternoon seeking to delegitimize the decisions made by Prime Minister KP Oli’s faction of the party.

A total of 11 Standing Committee members of the UML, close to Madhav Kumar Nepal faction, reached the EC, and submitted a letter urging the election body not to give legitimacy to the decisions made by the Oli faction.

The letter has been signed by Standing Committee members, including Jhala Nath Khanal, Madhav Kumar Nepal, Yuvraj Gyawali, Asta Laxmi Shakya, Bhim Rawal, Ghanashyam Bhusal, Bhim Acharya, Gokarna Bista, Yogesh Bhattarai, Mukunda Neupane and Surendra Pandey.

They were of the view that decisions taken by the Oli faction were against party unity, the party’s constitution and structure.

They deemed the decisions unauthorized and unlawful.
