Goit-led outfit claims responsibility of Lahan blast

Two seriously injured airlifted to Kathmandu



KATHMANDU: Tarai Janatantrik Mukti Morcha, issuing a statement, has claimed responsibility of the blast that took place at the Land Revenue Office in Lahan Municipality of Siraha on Sunday afternoon.

Leaflets of the Jay Krishna Goit-led outfit had been found at the blast site earlier.

Eight people were injured in the blast. The injured are being treated at Saptarishi Hospital in Lahan.

Among the injured, Dinesh Kumar Bhandari’s condition is said to be critical, said DSP Shaligram Sharma of District Police Office, Siraha.

Meanwhile, two of the eight people injured in the explosion are being airlifted to Kathmandu.

According to Siraha police, Shiv Kumar Yadav, 38, of Bishnupur-3 and Dinesh Kumar Bhandari, 30 of Dhangadhimai-4, have been airlifted to Kathmandu for further treatment.

Police informed that Yadav is a Land Revenue Office staff and Bhandari a beneficiary.

Likewise, Bhola Bahadur Magar of Dhangadimai -13, Dinesh Kumar Bhandari of Dhangadimai -4, Phul Kumari Thakur of Golbazar-4, Bechani Magar of Golbazar-6, Laxmi Narayan Magar of Golbazar-6, Lal Bahadur BK of Lahan Municipality-16, and Badri Narayan Yadav of Bhagawanpur-3 are injured in the blast.

The Goit group was very active during the Madhes-centric movement, but had gone inactive during the armed movement led by CK Raut and Netra Bikram Chand “Biplav”.

Both Raut and Chand have signed peace agreements with the government.
