Maoist Center’s CC meeting mulls party’s new name

 Nepali Communist Party likely to be party’s name



KATHMANDU: A proposal of changing the party’s name has entered as an agenda in today’s Central Committee (CC) meeting of the CPN (Maoist Center).

Currently, CC members of the party are being consulted for their views on the agenda.

According to a CC member of the Maoist Center, Nepali Communist Party has been proposed as the name of the party in the meeting.

The issue of party unification, new power-sharing, actions against 23 former Maoist Center leaders including Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa who defected to the CPN-UML are the other issues on the agenda, said sources.
