CPN-UML to hold CC meeting today

KATHMANDU: CPN-UML Chairman and Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has called a Central Committee (CC) meeting on Sunday.

The CC meeting will take place at Baluwatar today, informed UML Standing Committee member Subas Nembang.

According to UML sources,  a total of 264 CC members including those elected by the ninth General Convention of the party and those recently nominated from the CPN (Maoist Center) will participate in the CC meeting.

Chairman of the CPN-UML KP Oli has nominated 23 former leaders of the CPN (Maoist Center) to the UML’s Central Committee.

A meeting of the UML’s PM Oli faction held at the Prime Minister’s official residence in Baluwatar Friday nominated the former Maoist leaders to UML central committee.

With this, the number of CPN-UML central committee members has reached 264.

The UML is holding its CC meeting for the first time following the Supreme Court’s verdict that restored the erstwhile CPN-UML and CPN (Maoist Center), scrapping their unification as the Nepal Communist Party (NCP).
