Speaker concerned over his alleged involvement in Sardu Reservoir area land



KATHMANDU: Speaker Agni Sapkota has raised concern over reports of his involvement in the land scam at the Sardu Reservoir area.

The Speaker’s Secretariat said that it has drawn serious attention stating that the propaganda against the then Land Conservation Minister Agni Prasad Sapkota was misleading.

The Speaker and the then Minister Sapkota have asked his Secretariat to clarify the issue and the Secretariat has submitted some facts to clarify it.

The Speaker’s Secretariat has denied the allegations after the then Minister for Land Reforms and Water Resources, Sapkota, claimed that 348 bighas of government land in Dharan, Sunsari had been registered in a person’s name.

Various media outlets had reported that 348 bighas of government land in the Sardu Reservoir area of ​​Sunsari was registered in the name of a person when Sapkota was the Forest Minister.
