Samajbadi Press Organization is close to CPN-Unified Socialist

KATHMANDU: The leadership of the Samajbadi Press Organization, an organization of journalists close to CPN-Unified Socialist, has been announced in Kathmandu on Saturday.

Shambhu Shrestha was elected as the founding chairman of the Samajbadi Press Organization. Likewise, Bhupa Raj Khadka was elected as the general secretary of the 215-member Central Committee of the Samajbadi Press Organization.

Unified Socialist Chairman Madhav Kumar Nepal and Publicity Department Coordinator Jagannath Khatiwadal attended the national gathering of the organization.

After the split of the then CPN-UML, the Unified Socialist Party was formed.

With the split of the mother party, Press Chautari Nepal, an association of journalists close to the UML, also split.

An ad hoc committee of the Samajbadi Press Organization was announced after the Press Chautari split. Shrestha, who was the coordinator of the ad hoc committee, has become the chairman.
