KATHMANDU: Ruling Nepali Congress (NC) is holding its office-bearers’ meeting today.
The meeting will be held at the Prime Minister’s residence in Budhanilkantha, informed Prime Minister’s secretariat. Sources have said that the meeting will set agenda items for the central working committee (CWC) meeting scheduled for Sunday and dwell on the 14th General Convention of the party.
The date of the General Convention has been changed time and again and there have been doubts whether it will be held on the date scheduled for the last time.
There have been sharp differences between Poudel and Deuba factions due to many aspirants for the leadership in the General Convention. Senior leader Ram Chandra Poudel had called a meeting of his factions on Friday and President Deuba had called a meeting of his group on Thursday.
Despite efforts being made to field a common presidential candidate, it has not yet been successful due to many candidates aspiring for the post.
NC has scheduled to hold Province Convention on December 2-3 and General Convention on December 10-12.
