Abdullah Al Mutairi announces resignation



KATHMANDU: Head coach of the Nepali national football team Abdullah Al Mutairi has said that he will not stay in Nepal after the final of the SAAF Championship.

Coach Abdullah, who led Nepal to the final of the SAAF Championship for the first time under his leadership, said that the final would be his last game.

Nepal reached the final for the first time in a one-goal draw against Bangladesh on Wednesday.

Speaking at a post-match press conference, Abdullah said he would not stay in Nepal any longer.

“I am not a servant, I am a coach,” Abdullah said. “The final will be the last game for me, and will never return to Nepal again.”
