Woman self-immolates in Okhaldhunga



OKHALDHUNGA:  A woman has self-immolated in Okhaldhunga district.

The deceased has been identified as 38-year-old Urmila Sunuwar Jogi of Likhu rural municipality-3. Urmila set a fire to her body after sprinkling kerosene on her body on Sunday, said police.

According to DSP Govinda Raj Kafle of District Police Office, Okhaldhunga, she self-immolated in the presence of her husband Dirga Bahadur Jogi.

Jogi could not save her even though he tried to douse the fire. Critically injured Urmila breathed her last in the course of treatment.

The reason that led Urmila to committing suicide is yet to be revealed. Police said they are investigating the case.
