JSP Chair Bhattarai says ratifying MCC in national interest



KATHMANDU: Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP) Federal Council Chairman and former Prime Minister Dr. Baburam Bhattarai said it would be in the national interest to ratify the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) agreement.

Talking to the media in his home district Gorkha Monday, Bhattarai said MCC Compact should be ratified through national consensus at the earliest.

“All the political parties should arrive at a consensus regarding the agreement and ratify it for the good of the nation. Our party alone cannot decide on the matter. Therefore, it should be decided by national consensus,” he said.

Stating that the issue of MCC was being debated at the grassroots level, Bhattarai said timely decision regarding it should be taken.
