Leader Pandey entrusted to form government in Bagmati Province



KATHMANDU: CPN-Unified Socialist Bagmati Province is to coordinate with parties affiliated with the alliance to form a new government.

A parliamentary party meeting of the party held Monday gave responsibility to parliamentary leader Rajendra Prasad Pandey to coordinate for the same, according to the Unified Socialist parliamentary party (PP).

Similarly, the meeting also elected province assembly member and former minister Krishna Prasad Khanal as the Deputy-leader of the PP. Chief Minister Asta Laxmi Shakya had appointed Khanal as the Social Development Minister.

However, Khanal had certified his name reaching the Election Commission saying he would choose the Unified Socialist and then resigned from the post of Minister.

Similarly, the meeting also unanimously elected Munu Sigdel as the chief whip of the party and Basundhara Humagain as whip, said newly appointed whip of Bagmati Province, Humagain. The first meeting of the Unified Socialist PP held on Sunday had elected Rajendra Pandey as the parliamentary party leader (PP).
