Unified socialists retains support to Sudurpaschim CM



DHANGADHI: CPN-Unified Socialist Party has decided to support the CPN-Maoist Center led Sudurpaschim Province government.

The first parliamentary party meeting of Unified Socialist held in Dhangadhi on Monday decided to continue its support to Chief Minister Trilochan Bhatt.

Province Assembly member Durga BK informed that the first meeting chaired by senior member Bal Bahadur Sodari decided to support the province government.

BK also said that a three-member committee has been formed to make the constitution of the parliamentary party.

Likewise, he thanked all those who played a role in making the Unified Socialists the largest party in the province assembly.

The meeting agreed to select the party leader, chief whip, whip and parliamentary party office bearers only after finalizing the statute of the parliamentary party.

Minister for Physical Infrastructure Development Dirgha Bahadur Sodari, Minister for Internal Affairs and Law Purna Joshi and then Chief Whip of the CPN-UML Tara Lama Tamang are among the aspirants for the post.

A source said that the process was not taken forward as there was no consensus among the aspirants even though the issue of selecting the party leader was discussed in the meeting on Monday.

Next meeting of the party will be held on Tuesday afternoon.
