PM Oli announces resignation in his address to nation



KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has resigned from the post of prime minister Tuesday.

Concluding the address to the nation Tuesday afternoon, he announced his resignation begrudgingly.

In his address this afternoon, PM Oli remarked that the Supreme Court (SC) had interfered in parliamentary politics by acquiring the extra-judicial domain.

The House of Representatives (HoR) has re-established by the Supreme Court’s decision on Monday, while ordering to appoint Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba as the prime minister by 5 pm Tuesday. On the last day of his tenure as prime minister, he expressed confidence that he came from a parliamentary force and leaving the government leadership was a practice to follow. He stressed on national unity and conserving diversity.
