Maoist Center Chair Prachanda holding meeting with NC President Deuba

To discuss ministerial portfolio sharing 



KATHMANDU: CPN (Maoist Center) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal alias Prachanda is holding a meeting with Nepali Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba on power-sharing today.

Talking to media persons after the Standing Committee (SC) meeting, party Spokesperson Narayan Kaji Shrestha informed that Maoist Center Chairman Dahal will hold talks with President Deuba on the sharing of ministerial portfolios.

Maoist Center in the SC meeting has decided to finalize the names of Maoist Center leaders for the cabinet only after reaching a deal on power-sharing with Deuba.

Deuba is making preparations to form a small cabinet today itself, sources have said.

Reinstating the dissolved House of Representatives (HoR) on Monday, the Supreme Court (SC) issued a mandamus to appoint Nepali Congress President Deuba as the Prime Minister of Nepal.

Chairman Prachanda will go to Deuba’s residence Budhanilkantha to discuss the cabinet formation.

The SC meeting had decided to participate in the coalition government under the leadership of Deuba.

Meanwhile, Nepal-Khanal faction has decided not to remain in the opposition alliance.
