DPM Pokharel urges mayor forum to work together with federal govt

KATHMANDU: Deputy Prime Minister Ishwar Pokharel has urged the Kathmandu Valley Mayors’ Forum to cooperate with the federal government to contain the COVID-19 pandemic.

In a meeting with mayors at his office in Singha Durbar here today, DPM Pokharel, also CCMC chief, opined that all should help the government in this battle of containing the COVID-19 pandemic.

He added that only unified initiatives and positive thinking can help win this battle.

According to DPM Pokharel’s press advisor Ganesh Pandey Education Minister Krishna Gopal Shrestha, mayor forum chair Bidya Sundar Shakya, Lalitpur Metropolitan City Mayor Chiribabu Maharjan, Madhaypur Thimi Municipality mayor Madan Sundar Shrestha among others were present in the meeting.

The forum has proposed to launch integrated isolation centers in four different places in Kathmandu valley. The mayor forum has also opined to initiate to resolve the crisis of oxygen supplies in Kathmandu valley.
