NC blames govt for coronavirus case spike

KATHMANDU: The main opposition Nepali Congress (NC) has blamed the government for the surge of coronavirus cases in the country.

Issuing a press statement on Tuesday, the party’s Covid-19 Monitoring Committee has alleged that the pandemic spread has worsened due to government indifference towards the virus.

NC has asked the government to ensure immediate supply of essential health equipment in view of the growing number of critically ill patients.

“We urge the government to stop talking about the prevention and treatment of COVID-19 and rather take action against the pandemic,” NC statement said, adding, “the emergence of the new variants of coronavirus in Nepal, formerly noticed in foreign countries, shows the lack of enough precautionary measures on the government part.”

It has asked the government to intensify pandemic control measures.
