Nepal faction of UML wooing Bam Dev Gautam

KATHMANDU: Madhav Kumar Nepal faction of ruling Communist Party of Nepal (UML) has started wooing the party’s Vice Chairman Bam Dev Gautam to their side.

At a time when the Prime Minister KP Oli faction of the party has adopted the policy of silencing the rebelling leaders of the party, the Nepal-led faction has taken initiation, on Saturday, to bring influential leader Gautam on their side.

According to UML sources, the party’s Central Committee member Bala Ram Baskota, formerly known as very close to leader Gautam, has gone to get Gautam’s signature in the statement to be issued on behalf of the party’s Standing Committee.

Formerly indifferent to either faction of UML, leader Gautam had declared that PM Oli’s decision to revoke the posts of office-bearers had ended the chance of correcting the PM anymore.

However, Gautam had refrained from attending the Nepal-faction’s meeting held at Shankhamul on Saturday.
