NPC wins Kathmandu Mayor Cup Cricket title



KATHMANDU: Nepal Police Club (NPC) has won the title of Kathmandu Mayor Cup one-day cricket tournament.

In the final match played at Kirtipur-based Cricket Stadium today, NPC defeated APF club of the Armed Police Force by eight wickets.

With the title, NPC has bagged an award of Rs 500,000. APF team as the first runner up received the cash prize of Rs 300,000.

Put into bat first after winning the toss, APF team had posited a target of 106 runs before the NPC.

The NPC completed the given target in 24.1 overs at the loss of two wickets.

Cricketer Sunil Dhamala gathered maximum 51 runs for NPC. Some 11 teams including NPC, APF and Nepal Army Club took part in the tournament.
