Youths protest demanding justice to rape victims

KATHMANDU: Concerned at the increasing instances of rape, murder, and violence against women, youths have protested at Maitighar, Kathmandu demanding to make rapists public.

The blindfolded protesters chanted slogans demanding that the rapists be made public and the victims be given justice.

As part of protests the youths staged a sit-in for some time; three women, wearing white clothes and spreading their hair as done during the mourning days of the relatives, symbolically protested in front of the banner.

Some others staged protests wearing black blindfolds.

They all chanted slogans demanding women’s safety, action against the perpetrators, and justice for all victims.

The increasing instances of rape and violence have made people express concern over the worsening law and order situation and there have been demonstrations in Kathmandu almost every day demanding action against the perpetrators, justice for the victims, and guarantee for the safety of girls and women.
