KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) presidential candidate in the ongoing 14th General Convention Dr. Shekhar Koirala has claimed that his team will get victory in the first round of election.

Speaking to party cadres at Anupam Foodland in Kathmandu Sunday morning, Dr. Koirala assured that his team would get more than 51 percent of the total votes in the election to take place on Monday.

He is a leading contestant representing a non-establishment faction in the party’s general convention that began Friday.

He claimed that his team was capable of leading the party as envisioned by BP Koirala and dreamt by Shubarna Shumsher, Ganesh Man Singh, Girija Prasad Koirala, Krishna Prasad Bhattarai and Sushil Koirala, among others.

Dr. Koirala assured of substantive change in the party and the country as his team is full of capable, energetic and experienced leaders.
