Maoist Chair Prachanda’s secretariat set to be rejigged

KATHMANDU: The secretariat of Maoist Center Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ is set to be shuffled.

A recent meeting of the Standing Committee of the Maoist Center nominated Prachanda’s personal secretary Jokh Bahadur Mahara as the co-incharge of Lumbini Province.

Mahara had been appointed as Prachanda’s personal secretary during Maoist’s Chunwang meet in 2003. He continued in the same position even after the Maoists entered the peace process.

Talks are that former president of All Nepal National Independent Student Union (Revolutionary) Ramesh Malla is to replace Mahara as Prachanda’s personal secretary now.

Similarly, Prachanda’s press coordinator Bishnu Sapkota has been tasked to look after the press center. However, who is going to replace Sapkota is yet to be known.

The decision to choose and induct members into the secretariat rests upon the party Chairman Prachanda.
