CJ Rana should choose whether to resign or wait to be removed: Former President of Nepal Bar Dahal

KATHMANDU: Senior advocate and former President of Nepal Bar Association Harihar Dahal has said that Chief Justice Cholendra Shumsher Rana should choose whether to resign or wait to be removed from the top post.

Addressing a sit-in held by the Nepal Bar at the main gate of the Supreme Court, Dahal said, “As time goes by, we have taken the path of dismissing CJ Rana.”

Stating that time has not yet passed, he demanded the immediate resignation of the chief justice. Stating that the goal of the Nepal Bar was clear, he suggested continuing the sit-in at the main gate of the Supreme Court until the goal is achieved.

Dahal said that even the political parties could not remain silent. Dahal warned that if the parties do not break the silence, their movement will also focus on the inaction of the government and the parties.
