CHITWAN: The eighth national convention of the CPN (ML) is being held from November 13 to 15 in Chitwan.

Organizing a news conference on Thursday, the national convention organizing committee said that preparations for the national convention have reached the final stage. The event would be held in Narayani Kala Mandir, it is said.

The committee’s coordinator and the party’s standing committee member Dinanath Ghimire said that all the preparations for the national convention were over and party general secretary CP Mainali is scheduled to inaugurate the program.

The party said that around 350 representatives from across the country would partake in the event.

The party’s national convention was scheduled to hold in last May but was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This time too, the program would be convened by following health protocols in view of coronavirus infection.

The national convention would elect the 75-member central committee of the party.

The CPN (ML) would discuss the revolution’s program of the country (New People’s Democracy), political report, its organizational proposal, and report, Ghimire said.
