National Science Day to be observed throughout week



KATHMANDU: The National Science Day will be observed throughout a week starting from September 13, according to the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology.

Ministry Secretary Suresh Acharya shared that the Ministry was preparing to celebrate 9th National Science Day on September 17.

At the closing of a workshop organized by the National Astronomical Society on Saturday, Secretary Acharya said that a new building of Nepal Academy of Science and Technology (NAST) would be inaugurated on that day. He opined that while the world was grappling with COVID-19 pandemic and health crisis, we could move ahead taking advantage of sciences and researches.

Various events will be organized by the Ministry during the National Science Day weeklong celebration such as interaction program among the science experts and entrepreneurs. Similarly, discussions will be held on the science and diplomacy in technology by creating ‘science diplomacy forum’. People contributing to science and technology will be feted during the weeklong celebration, it was shared.

Likewise, Kathmandu University STEM Education Department Chief Binod Prasad Pant spoke of the need to pay attention to research-based skills to resolve any problems. Meanwhile, the Society organized a workshop in association with the Ministry to impart knowledge on astronomy to the 14 students from seven community schools.
