SC verdict a win for all Nepalis: Maoist Center Chair Prachanda

KATHMANDU: Chairman of the CPN (Maoist Center) Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has said the Supreme Court (SC) decision is a win for all the Nepali people. Attributing the verdict to a landmark historical event, he said it was a victory for Nepal and all Nepalis.

Commenting on the SC verdict Monday, the Maoist chairman said, “Today’s court decision upheld the dignity of the constitution and the nation.” He also congratulated and thanked the Supreme Court, the Chief Justice and other judges. “They have upheld the dignity of the constitution and the nation, and they have upheld the dignity of the judiciary,” he said.

Stating that Nepali public had been tried from the repeated dissolution of the parliament and attacks on the constitution, he said history would respect the SC order on the second dissolution of the parliament.

The SC reversed KP Sharma Oli’s move to dissolve parliament Monday and ordered Sher Bahadur Deuba to be appointed prime minister within 28 hours.
