Opposition alliance to gather at senior UML leader Nepal’s residence in Koteshwor



KATHMANDU: Leaders of the opposition alliance are set to meet at senior UML leader Madhav Kumar Nepal’s residence in Koteshwor Monday afternoon.

Following the Supreme Court (SC) ruling to restore the House of Representatives (HoR) and appoint Nepali Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba the Prime Minister, the opposition alliance will be gathering at leader Nepal’s residence to discuss and chart the future strategy of national politics later Monday afternoon.

The opposition alliance is comprised of the NC, CPN-Maoist Center, CPN-UML’s Madhav Kumar Nepal faction, Janata Samajwadi Party’s Upendra Yadav faction and the Rastriya Janamorcha.

As many as 146 lawmakers, including 23 of the UML Nepal faction, had signed the petition calling for the restoration of the HoR and appointment of Deuba as prime minister.
