Ex-CM Gurung congratulates newly-appointed Gandaki CM Nepali



KATHMANDU: Former Gandaki Chief Minister Prithvi Subba Gurung has congratulated the newly appointed Chief Minister Krishna Chandra Nepali.

Gurung, telephoning CM Nepali, congratulated him personally as well as on behalf of the party and wished him a successful tenure.

Nepali, who had the support of the opposition alliance, was appointed Chief Minister by Gandaki Governor Sita Kumari Poudel on Saturday afternoon.

Earlier, Gurung had also staked claim to the CM’s post with the support of Krishna Thapa, who has been sacked twice by Rastriya Janamorcha, and the provincial committee of Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP).

Gurung had lost the vote of confidence in Provincial Assembly on Thursday.

Following Grurung’s claim, the opposition lawmakers had demonstrated out the Office of the Governor.
