Province 2 govt to give Rs 100,000 each to families of five girls who drowned



KATHMANDU: Province 2 government Saturday announced to provide Rs. 100,000 as relief to the families of five girls who drowned in a pond Friday.

Five girls aged 10 to 13 years drowned in a pond Friday afternoon at Laxmipur of Mukhiyapatti Musaharniya-6, Dhanusha, in Province-2.

The deceased have been identified as Laxminiya Yadav, 12, (daughter of Paltu Yadav), Chandakumari Bhagat, 10, (daughter of Joginder Bhagat), Manju Purve, 13, (daughter of Rajgir Purba), Chadani Thakur, 12, (granddaughter of Jagarnath Thakur) and Lalita Sah Teli, 12 (daughter of Uttim Sah Teli).

The bodies of the five girls have been kept at Janakpurdham-based provincial hospital for postmortem, Dhanusha police informed.

Meanwhile, provincial Minister of Physical Infrastructure and Transport Ram Saroj Yadav visited the bereaved families at the hospital.
