Baidya’s statement is unacceptable: NC leader Gagan Thapa

KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress leader Gagan Thapa has said that there is no room for violence within the party.

After Congress member Narottam Baidya made an objectionable statement against Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli in the Bagmati Pradesh Assembly on Friday, Thapa remarked on social media that the party believes in non-violent politics.

In the state assembly meeting, lawmakers Baidya said that Prime Minister Oli has compromised with every issue to just retain power and that he would become Nathuram Godse, the assassin of Mahatma Gandhi, against Oli.

Protests are taking place after the statement. Thapa wrote, “Baidya’s statement in the state assembly is not acceptable to any of us”.
