BUTWAL: Six coronavirus patients have died in Butwal in the time span of 12 hours.

According to hospital sources, five persons died waiting for ICU and HDU bed in Lumbini Provincial Hospital Butwal  while one more died at COVID-19 Hospital established in the thread factory.

“Five of the deceased were the coronavirus patients admitted to the emergency ward of the hospital, whereas one died at the Corona Hospital,” the source said.

The source informed that all the deceased had high fever and respiratory problems.

With the 12 deaths added to the list, the death toll from the corona infection in Rupandehi has risen to 299 as of Wednesday morning.

According to the hospital sources, there are 36 people undergoing treatment in HDU, 16 in ICU, seven in fever clinic and 38 in the bed of emergency ward of Lumbini Provincial Hospital.

Nearly two dozen coronavirus patients are said to be waiting their turn to get admitted to emergency ward if not in the ICU.
