Manakamana cable car service resumes operations



CHITWAN: The Manakamana cable car service has resumed regular operations from today.

The service was halted for five days from April 7 for the first phase of repair works.

The cable car service has resumed since 8 am today.

Although it was announced that the service would be resumed from April 13, it has been started a day earlier, said Deputy General Manager of Manakamana Darshan Pvt Ltd, Ujjwal Sherchan.

The cable car system which has completed 23 years is being upgraded in three phases to convert it from analog technology to digital.

Sherchan said the upgrading works would be completed within two years. RSS
