Head Constable arrested with Rs 10,000 bribe



DAMAULI: Shanti Bhandari, a police Head Constable working at the Women and Children Service Center of the Area Police Office, Belchautara, has been arrested for taking a bribe of Rs 10,000 to release a detainee.

A team from the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA), Pokhara took her under control after taking the kickback, said CIAA Information Officer Meghnath Rijal.

The anti-graft body said she was arrested from the service center premises on the basis of a complaint of seeking a bribe to release a person under police control for an investigation into a road accident.
