NRT claim first win of season against Satdobato

KATHMANDU: New Road Team (NRT) claimed their first win of the season condemning Satdobato Youth Club (SYC) to their first defeat in the Qatar Airways Martyr’s Memorial ‘A’ Division League 2021/22 on Saturday.

Stephane Samir Binong scored the only goal in the first minute of the second half to give NRT their first win of the season. SYC could have leveled the game in the final minutes but Ashish Rai shot just wide from the bar.

NRT moved up to seventh in the table while SYC are third in the table.

NRT coach Raju Kaji Shakya said he was happy with the win but not with the team’s performance. “Our performance was down as compared to our previous game. But as we changed our team’s formation, we scored and could manage the win,” said Shakya.

SYC’s coach Meghraj KC said his team looked tired in today’s game. “We were slow today and our passes were also not accurate. We missed a good chance towards the end and need to improve in coming matches,” said KC.
