UML CC meeting underway in Bhaktapur



KATHMANDU: A Central Committee (CC) meeting of the CPN-UML is underway at Gatthaghar, in Bhaktapur, Saturday.

The ongoing CC meeting is the second meeting of the new 301-member central body of the UML elected from the recently held 10th general convention. CC members have been provided with certificates of their posts at the CC meeting today. In addition, CC members, who had missed oath-taking in Chitwan’s first CC meet, were also administered the oath.

UML central office Sher Bahadur Tamang said the agenda of the UML’s second CC meeting includes formation of Standing Committee and Politburo, nomination of CC members and work division of central members, among others. The party has set 15 agenda to discuss in the meeting. Tamang added that the agenda of the meeting also includes fixing the date for UML’s district and provincial conventions, amending its statute and the rules and regulations, meeting procedures and central office management.

Earlier, UML Secretariat meeting held at Chairman KP Oli’s residence in Balkot finalized the agenda to be taken to the CC meeting.

Meanwhile, leader Bhim Rawal is not participating in CC meet. Rawal, after being defeated as chairman, was elected central member but has yet to take the oath as central member.

The CC meeting will take place even on Sunday.
