MCC Veep Sumar calls on Finance Minister Sharma



KATHMANDU: Vice President of Compact Operations of Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) Fatima Sumar has called on Finance Minister Janardan Sharma at the latter’s office in Singha Durbar on Saturday.

According to Finance Minister’s Secretariat, Vice President Sumar requested Sharma to expedite parliamentary ratification to take the project into the implementation phase. Finance Minister Sharma responded that the issue of whether to approve the MCC was still a matter under discussion in the political circle.

Sumar, who arrived in Kathmandu Thursday, earlier met CPN-UML Chair KP Oli, Unified Socialist Chair Madhav Kumar Nepal, Maoist Center Chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ and Federal Council Chair of Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP) Baburam Bhattarai and another Chair Upendra Yadav.
