NC disapproves resignation tendered by CEC coordinator Yadav



KATHMANDU: The resignation tendered by coordinator of the Central Election Committee (CEC) of Nepali Congress Mahadev Prasad Yadav has been rejected.

Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba, who is also the Prime Minister of Nepal, did not approve the resignation on Friday.
Refusing to accept the resignation, President Deuba urged Yadav to accomplish the remaining task of the General Convention.
Yadav tendered his resignation saying that the ward convention in the 20 districts has been delayed.

According to the revised schedule, the ward and town level convention for those remaining 20 districts will be held on September 21. Likewise, the rural municipality and municipality level convention will be organized on September 25.

Similarly, provincial assembly level regional convention is scheduled for September 28. District convention having only one House of Representatives constituency will be held on October 4 while district convention having more than one House of Representatives constituency will see convention to be held same day.

Yadav had tendered his resignation at the central party office on September 8.
