Honorary Consular Corps-Nepal team calls on President Bhandari



KATHMANDU: The newly-elected team of Honorary Consular Corps-Nepal (HCC-N) led by new Dean Lokmanya Golchha has called on President Bidya Devi Bhandari.

On the occasion, HCC-N Dean Golcha extended best wishes to the countries sending vaccines and other health supplies in view of the coronavirus, on behalf of Consuls and Consul Generals, to President Bhandari.

The delegates briefed the President on the efforts they have been making to boost up the economy and enhance Nepal’s bilateral and multi-lateral relationship with the sending countries since 2015.

It was recalled that the cooperation between Nepal and the sending countries is cordial and supportive. Sending countries are keen to help Nepal fight the pandemic and address other needs of the country as required.

On the occasion, President Bhandari lauded the support by different countries to Nepal, especially at this hour of need, according to HCC-N.

She stated that as it was not possible to open the embassies in those countries right now, the role of the consular there is really matters a lot.

President Bhandari remarked that they could contribute further in trade and economy, people to people relationships and other burning issues related to environment and climate change.

President Bhandari also urged HCC-N to create a broader arena among bilateral as well as multilateral sectors for boosting inter and intra-country cooperation.

She also urged the members to work on environmental issues besides promotion of trade and tourism.
